1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Comanda website, ordering software, kitchen display, admin panel, and related support services operated by Lumera Digital, referred to in this policy as “Comanda,” “we,” “us,” or “our.” It describes information handled when a business evaluates or uses Comanda and when a customer places an order through a store using Comanda.
Comanda is software for independent stores.
Comanda is not a consumer marketplace. Each store maintains its own customer relationship and is responsible for its menu, products, fulfillment, customer service, and refund decisions.
2. Our role and the store's role
For information a store submits to create and manage its Comanda account, Lumera Digital determines how that business account information is handled.
For customer and order information processed through a store's ordering experience, the store determines why the information is collected and how it is used for the order. Comanda processes that information to provide the software and services requested by the store. Customers should contact the store first about a specific order or request involving store-controlled order information.
3. Information we handle
Business account information
We may handle the name, business name, business address, email address, phone number, account credentials, store configuration, menu information, and support communications provided by a store or its authorized users.
Customer and order information
When a customer places an order, Comanda may process the customer's name, contact details, delivery or pickup information, order contents, instructions, age-restricted item status, order status, refund status, and related communications.
Payment-related information
Payments are processed through the store's own Stripe account. Comanda may receive payment status, transaction references, amounts, and limited details needed to connect the order to the payment. Comanda does not receive or store full payment card numbers.
Device and service information
We may handle IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, diagnostic records, security events, and activity logs needed to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and audit the service.
4. How information is used
We use information to:
- provide online ordering, pickup and delivery workflows, courier dispatch, kitchen display, and administration tools;
- authenticate users and maintain store settings;
- connect an order with payment status from the store's Stripe account;
- process store-authorized refunds and maintain an audit record;
- provide support and communicate about the service;
- monitor reliability, prevent misuse, investigate security events, and comply with legal obligations.
5. How information is shared
Information may be shared only as needed to provide and protect the service, including with:
- The relevant store. The store receives the customer and order information needed to prepare, fulfill, support, and refund the order.
- Stripe. Payment information is sent to Stripe for processing through the store's own Stripe account.
- The store's selected courier. Delivery details may be sent to the courier that the store has chosen and contracted with.
- Service providers. Vendors may process information for hosting, security, communications, monitoring, and technical operations under agreements appropriate to their role.
- Legal and safety recipients. Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect rights or safety, or investigate fraud and abuse.
- Business transaction recipients. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
Comanda does not use customer order data to operate a consumer marketplace.
6. Payments and refunds
Each store connects and controls its own Stripe account. Customer payments go directly into that store's Stripe balance. Comanda does not collect, hold, pool, or distribute customer funds on behalf of stores.
The store controls refund decisions. Authorized store users may issue refunds through the Comanda admin panel or the store's Stripe dashboard. Comanda records administrative actions to support security and accountability.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Comanda may use essential browser storage and similar technologies required for security, session continuity, ordering, and site operation. This marketing website does not currently use non-essential analytics or marketing cookies.
8. Privacy choices and rights
Depending on where a person lives, they may have rights regarding access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information. A request may be submitted using the contact information below. We may need to verify the request and, when the relevant store controls the information, direct the request to that store or assist the store in responding.
Customers can also contact the store directly about order records, fulfillment, refunds, and store communications.
9. Security, retention, and children
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain required business and audit records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Retention can vary by record type and the instructions of the relevant store.
Children
Comanda is business software and is not directed to children. Stores are responsible for the products they offer and for complying with laws that apply to their customers and sales.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the service, our practices, or applicable requirements. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
